Sean has over 25 years of commercial construction experience. He studied Civil Engineering at UC Davis before working for Teichert Construction, DPR and RE Lamb. Sean spent 14 years at Balfour Beatty, starting as Project Manager and working his way up to Vice President. Prior to his departure, Sean was a Sr. Vice President overseeing the California region, where he was responsible for growing the firm’s business, mentoring teams through a robust training program and ensuring the highest level of operational excellence. During his time at Balfour Beatty, he worked closely with the Southern California team, developing strong local relationships and an understanding of the construction marketplace. He has also built hallmark projects in Phoenix, Seattle, Austin, Oakland, San Jose and San Francisco.
Today, Sean leads Skyline’s capital construction division which includes ground-up office buildings, multi-family residential towers, high-end hospitality projects, complete seismic upgrades, building repositioning projects, labs, data centers, restaurants and more. He oversees the division’s West Coast presence which includes Northern and Southern California, managing all day to day operations of the business. Sean is a preconstruction and estimating expert, ensuring every project is set up accurately from the start. Some of his key clients include The Hyatt, Brookfield, Essex Property Trust, Align Real Estate and Cowboy Partners.
Rene is a well-respected construction leader with a strong reputation for growing operational teams. With 28 years of experience at Rudolph and Sletten prior to joining Skyline, he began his career as a summer intern while completing his Civil Engineering degree at San Diego State University. He worked his way up from a Project Engineer to a Vice President where he was responsible for successfully opening and growing offices in Irvine, Los Angeles and San Diego. He also served as the firm’s diversity director and successfully implemented workforce programs to meet diversity requirements. At the time of his departure, he was Sr. Vice President of Operations, overseeing the entire Southern California region with revenue over $500 million a year.
Today, Rene oversees Skyline’s commercial interiors group throughout California with offices in San Francisco, Santa Clara, Walnut Creek, Pleasanton and San Diego. He has experience managing every aspect of the business including preconstruction, project execution, completion and client relationship development. While his personal specialty is in life science facilities, he has vast construction experience that spans ground-up office buildings, commercial interiors, healthcare, education, semiconductor and pharmaceutical projects. Some of his most notable clients included Pfizer, Hewlett Packard, Kaiser, SeaWorld, UCLA, Children’s Hospital – Los Angeles, and BioMed Realty.
